MIL-DTL-62265C(AT)
4.12.3 Shock test. The assembly shall be installed in a test fixture and subjected to shock
to pulses of 40 g for a duration of 18 ± 3 ms per MIL-STD-810, method 514, procedure I, or
equivalent (see 4.7). Three (3) half-sine-wave shock pulses shall be applied to the assembly in
each direction of 3 mutually perpendicular axes. After the test, the assembly shall be examined for
evidence of damage and subjected to the hydraulic fluid bubble point test of 4.9.1.2. The bubble
point value obtained shall not be less than the minimum value established during hydraulic fluid
preproduction or initial production testing as in 4.9.1.2.
5. PACKAGING
5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified
in the contract or order (see 6.2). When actual packaging of materiel is to be performed by DoD
personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain requisite
packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Point's
packaging activity within the Military Department or Defense Agency, or within the Military
Department's System Command. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing Military
Department's or Defense Agency's automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by
contacting the responsible packaging activity.

(This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature which may be
helpful, but is not mandatory.)
6.1 Intended use, The filter element and relief valve assembly covered by this
specification are of the disposable type, 3 and 5 µ filtration. They are military unique because of
the special design, dimensional constraints, and their intended use in the hydraulic systems of
M60A1, M60A2, and M60A3 tanks operating with hydraulic fluid conforming to MIL-H-46170
and have no commercial applications.
6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents must specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this specification.
b. Issue of DoDISS to be cited in the solicitation, and if required, the specific issue
of individual documents referenced (see 2.2.1).
c. If first article assembly is required (see 3.1).
d. Assembly drawing number, part number, and PIN (see 3.3, 3.6.1 and 6.3).
e. Any special marking, if required (see 3.6.1).
f. If first article preproduction inspection is required (see 4.2.1).
