The samples shall be representative of the construction, workmanship, components, and materials
to be used during production. Approval of the first article inspection samples or the waiving of the
first article inspection does not exempt the test requirements for performing the conformance
inspection. The first article inspection samples shall be furnished to the Government as directed
by the acquisition activity (see 6.2).

4.3. Conformance inspection. Conformance inspection shall consist of examinations and tests as
specified in table III. The tests shall perform on individual products or lots to determine
conformance of the products or lots with the requirements of this specification. The sampling and
inspection shall conform to ANSI-Z1.4.
4.3.1 Sampling.
4.3.1.1 Inspection lot.
4.3.1.1.1 Valve. An inspection lot size shall be expressed in units of valves made under the same
conditions and from the same materials and components. The sample unit shall be one valve.
4.3.1.2 Sampling for tests and examinations of valves. The sample size, acceptance criteria, tests
and examinations required for the valves shall be as specified in table III.
4.4 Test conditions.
4.4.1 Oxygen. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the oxygen used in testing the valves shall
conform to MIL-O-27210, Type I. If oxygen is not used as the test gas, oxygen in accordance
with MIL-O-27210, Type I shall be used to purge in accordance with 3.5.12.2 and 4.5.13.2.
