4.3.1 First article samples.
The first article test samples shall consist of three valves of each manufacturer's part number to
be tested and shall be representative of the production valves. For valves employing filters (see
3.5.2), the filters shall be used during all tests to which the valve is subjected. The contractor
shall be required to retest every three (3) years as a minimum; otherwise, the first article tests
cannot be waived (see 6.2 and 6.5.1).
4.3.2 Test sequence.
The three test samples shall be subjected to the following specified tests:
