4. VERIFICATION
4.1 Classification of inspection. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows:
a. First article (see 4.2).
b. Conformance inspection (See 4.3).
4.2. First article. One sample of the applicable PIN (see 6.2) shall be subjected to the testing as
specified in table I and table II. Any nonconformance with specified requirements shall be cause for
rejection of the lot.
4.2.1 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified, all inspections shall be performed in
accordance with the test conditions specified herein.
4.2.2 Inspection lot. An inspection lot shall consist of all the valves of the same PIN, produced under
essentially the same conditions, and offered for inspection at one time.
4.2.3 Samples. The sample unit for the first article inspection shall be one completely fabricated valve
randomly chosen from the inspection lot.

4.3. Conformance inspection.
4.3.1 Inspection of product for delivery. Inspection of product for delivery shall consist of the
examinations in table I.
4.3.2 Production lot sampling. Sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with
MIL-STD-1916, except where otherwise indicated.
4.4 Performance.
4.4.1 Dimensional examination. Examination shall be made of the end item to determine compliance
with the dimensional requirements as specified in MS17982. Any dimension that does not meet specified
requirements shall be classified a defect.
4.4.2 Visual examination. Visual examination shall be made of the valve for defects described in table
II.
